What Age Is the Magic Show Suitable For?
Magic Glen specialises in entertaining children aged 4–7.
The magic, comedy, pacing and audience participation have been developed specifically around younger children.
Rather than expecting the children to sit quietly and simply watch, they’re encouraged to laugh, respond, help with the magic and become part of the fun.
How Long Is the Birthday Magic Show?
The birthday magic show runs for approximately 45 minutes.
This is long enough to provide substantial entertainment while still being appropriate for the attention span of younger children.
What Time Should the Magic Show Start?
I usually recommend starting the magic show approximately 30 minutes after the advertised party start time.
This gives guests time to arrive, settle in and enjoy some free play before bringing everyone together for the main entertainment.
Typical weekend show start times include:
10:30am • 12:30pm • 2:30pm • 4:30pm
Exact availability will depend on your party date and location.
What Happens During the Magic Show?
The show combines colourful magic, comedy, surprises and lots of audience participation.
The children are encouraged to laugh, respond and join in throughout the performance rather than simply sitting and watching.
LEARN MORE ABOUT THE BIRTHDAY MAGIC SHOW
Does the Birthday Child Participate?
Absolutely.
The birthday child receives special attention and becomes one of the stars of the show, joining Magic Glen for special tricks and magical moments.
It’s their birthday, so the aim is to make them feel extra special while their friends share in the fun.
Can You Cater for Two Birthday Children?
Yes.
If the party is being held for two birthday children, just let me know beforehand so I can make sure both children receive special attention during the show.
How Many Children Can Attend?
There isn’t a strict limit.
Magic Glen has performed for groups ranging from approximately 6 to 80 children, although many home birthday parties have around 15–20 children.
The show is designed to involve the whole audience, not just the children invited to the front.
Can You Perform Outdoors?
Yes, provided the performance area is cool, calm and protected from direct sunlight and wind.
Some magic props are lightweight, so wind can make an outdoor performance difficult. Direct Brisbane sunshine can also quickly become uncomfortable for both the children and performer.
An indoor or enclosed performance area is preferable whenever possible.
How Much Space Does the Magic Show Need?
Approximately 2m × 2m of performance space is ideal, with enough room in front for the children to sit comfortably.
Most lounge rooms and similar indoor areas are perfectly suitable.
Do I Need to Provide a Table, Electricity or Equipment?
No.
Magic Glen arrives with the equipment required for the performance and does not require you to provide a special table or access to electricity.
Do You Require a Deposit?
No deposit is currently required.
Payment can be placed in an envelope and given to Magic Glen on the day of the party.
Do You Have Public Liability Insurance?
Yes.
Magic Glen carries $20 million Public Liability Insurance for your peace of mind.
Do You Have a Blue Card?
Yes.
Magic Glen holds a current Working with Children Blue Card.
Do You Offer Balloon Animals?
Yes.
Balloon animals can be added to your birthday party for $30 for all the children.
Do You Offer Party Bags?
Yes.
Party bags are available for $3 per child.
Let me know when enquiring if you would like party bags included with your booking.
What Areas Do You Travel To?
Magic Glen performs at children’s birthday parties throughout Brisbane.
Travel charges may apply depending on your party location.
If you’re unsure whether I travel to your suburb, simply include your suburb when checking availability and I’ll let you know.
You can also view the full list of suburbs I visit across Brisbane, Moreton Bay, Logan, Ipswich and Redlands on my Greater Brisbane Service Areas page.
Why Does Magic Glen Specialise in Ages 4–7?
Entertaining a group of excited 4–7 year olds is very different from entertaining older children or adults.
Young children want to laugh, respond, participate and feel like they’re part of what’s happening.
After more than 25 years and thousands of children’s birthday parties, Magic Glen’s show has been developed specifically around the humour, pacing and participation that works particularly well with this age group.
What If My Child Is Quiet or Shy?
That’s perfectly fine.
Not every birthday child wants to be the loudest person in the room or stand in front of their friends.
Magic Glen has entertained thousands of children with very different personalities and can adjust the level of participation to help the birthday child feel comfortable.
The aim is to make your child feel special — not pressured.
